Welcome to our new Research Hub

Here we are promoting the academic expertise of our staff through their individual research interests, focusing on student excellence with their project work and pushing HRUC and the WLIoT forward as leaders and experts in the FE sector for thought leadership.

We will be the first IoT to develop a published journal to enhance research in STEM and further information will be available on this later this year, watch this space!

We aim to become an authority in STEM for original and forward-thinking insights, offering quarterly publications of articles and research with new and fresh content to inspire our learners and promote our staff and students in their work and future discoveries.

AI in the FE sector

HRUC, together with our partners across education and industry, shares a clear ambition to embed AI across the FE sector in ways that are genuinely transformative for both students and staff. Our focus is not simply on adoption, but on meaningful implementation that enhances learning, improves efficiency, and strengthens outcomes.

Through our work with the wider Association of Colleges Technology Group, we are championing innovation and collaboration to ensure the benefits of AI are realised consistently and responsibly across the sector. We have been proud to contribute to illuminating discussions at AoC conferences and at the “How Colleges are Transforming Colleges Through AI” event, which examined how AI can enhance the student journey, support governing bodies, and help deliver a truly Smart Campus.

HRUC will continue to be at the forefront of this agenda.

Our first hot topic thought leadership series explores the opportunities and challenges facing FE in a world increasingly shaped and informed by artificial intelligence, and how colleges can respond with confidence, creativity and impact.
