Sustainability is embedded throughout the curriculum with students learning how to design innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact. Students are encouraged to apply sustainable principles within their subject areas, developing both technical knowledge and critical awareness of global environmental challenges.

Valentina Vicario, a commercial learner and full-time technician studying at Uxbridge College, is the HRUC Group winner of the National Innovation Challenge. She is holding her award and standing with Ketih Smieth, CEO HRUC and Konnie Huq, TV presenter and STEM ambassador.

Her groundbreaking ‘Cranial Cooler’ is a smart, wearable device designed to bring relief to those suffering from migraines and support recovery in strokes and neurorehabilitation. 

This innovative concept not only showcases her creativity and technical talent but also highlights the life-changing impact engineering can have on real-world health challenges.

Recite Me Web Accessibility and Language Toolbar

We’ve added the Recite Me web accessibility and language toolbar to our website to make it inclusive for as many people as possible.

Recite Me is innovative cloud-based software that enables visitors to view and use our website in a way that works best for them.

It helps 1 in 5 people in the UK who have a disability, including those with common conditions such as sight loss and dyslexia, access our website in the way that suits them best.

Recite Me also helps to meet the needs of some of the 4.2 million people in the UK who speak a language other than English at home, by translating our web content into over 100 different languages.

We are proud to offer Recite Me assistive tools on our website, empowering every visitor to customise their digital experience.
